Welcome to the website of the NH World Naked Bike Ride. The ride is a protest against oil dependency and in celebration of the power and individuality of the body. If you are looking for the other sections of the World Naked Bike Ride, please visit the international WNBR website homepages.
There has only been one NH ride (in 2005) as part of the World Naked Bike ride. It ended prematurely when half of the riders were arrested for nudity (that's to say, two riders were arrested). In other places, the ride went ahead without any arrests.
The fate of the New Hampshire 2006 ride remains unclear. If anyone is interested in organising a ride for Saturday June 10th, 2006, get in touch with the international coordinators of the World Naked Bike Ride.
For the full story of the 2005 NH ride, visit the ride page and also the press page.
On September 8th, 2005, the two riders who were arrested during the NH 2005 ride were to face the charge of "indecent exposure". They planned to plead not guilty, but they didn't have enough funds to pay for a lawyer (though many people donated generously - thanks!). They eventually agreed to have the charges reduced to "disorderly conduct" and pay a $300 fine. The cost of the fines were mostly covered by the donations received by the Legal Defence Fund.
For more about the legal challenge, visit the Legal Case page.
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO DONATED TO THE LEGAL DEFENCE FUND!
